I've been a Jefferson Airplane fan for as long as I loved rock-n-roll. I was much less of a Hot Tuna fan in their mid-'70s heyday because I was exploring other music and somewhat put off by their enthusiastically vocal fans. As I got older, I discovered the joys of acoustic Hot Tuna.
With that preamble, I present an interview I did with bassist Jack Casady a few days ago. Electric Hot Tuna will be at the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester tonight, and at the Great South Bay Music Festival in Patchogue on Sunday.

Interview with Bernie Worrell
It's difficult to describe Bernie Worrell's career without reciting a laundry list of musicians with whom he's toured and recorded. My first time seeing him was as a young, hip New Yorker at a Talking Heads concert. My most recent encounter was when he played Vibes with Steve Kimock's band. Bernie has been everywhere in between.
This Friday he'll bring his latest project, the Bernie Worrell Orchestra, to the Brooklyn Bowl for a night of funked-up standards. I caught up with Bernie for some talk about his new project and his illustrious musical past.

Interview with The Barber

I'll be interviewing Jon Gutwillig of the Disco Biscuits.
Uniting elements of electronic dance music with more traditional forms of American rock, the Disco Biscuits have long established themselves as one of the most exciting - and influential - touring bands in the country. In the late 90s, the band pioneered a unique style of music, often referred to as "trance-fusion," that distinguished them from their peers, while heavily influencing an entire generation of younger "livetronica" acts.
The Disco Biscuits will be playing The Klein in Bridgeport on April 19th.
UPDATE: For whatever reason, the interview didn't happen. If I can reschedule it I'll post a note.
