Sunday Brunch Concert: Parker's Tangent postponed

Due to heat conditions in the room and expected traffic from the parade in Bridgeport, the Parker's Tangent concert has been postponed. We will reschedule for later in the summer. We'll even try to find a location with air conditioning! My apologies to the band and their friends for this inconvenience, but you'll thank me later.

Jerry Garcia night with the S.F. Giants

The Giants will honor one of San Francisco's most beloved native sons on the 15th anniversary of Jerry Garcia's passing with two baseball traditions, and what could only be described as a Pranksterish stunt. According to Relix:
Garcia’s daughter Annabelle will throw out the first pitch while Bob Weir will perform the National Anthem. Later, during the seventh inning stretch, Mickey Hart will attempt to set a Guinness World Record for the world’s largest kazoo ensemble, leading more than 7,000 fans in “Take Me Out To The Ball Game.”
We have to be grateful that Micky's not leading a vuvuzela ensemble.

Independence Day

IN CONGRESS, JULY 4, 1776
The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness....
